The day in tweets for 2012-02-29 from The Smiling Assassin
- I know I'm probably around 7 hours behind everyone else with this but Scott Parker? England Captain?!? Do us a favour love. #
- @JordoWesthead that's nothing, you should have seen some of the mazy runs Ngog went on for Bolton earlier. Ronaldinho-esque… #FIFA12 #
- Rayne Wooney apparently got out of England duty this week because of a sore throat…. #
- Yet someone who played over 2hrs of football just over 72hrs ago is allowed to play? Hmmm…. #
- Now if Arjen Robben had done that in the World Cup final, he wouldn't have cost me £45, the bald git. #
- One of Hope Powell's protegees, Phillippa Jones, set to come on for England here. So proud of the lass. #
- @SiClancy you really have brought your "A Game" tonight Si. Best performance from an Englishman by a mile. #
- @SiClancy the mistake your making there is paying attention to anything Clive Tyldsley says. Don't worry, you'll learn. #

- Which will leave the Solar System first; the Voyager 2 spacecraft or Charlie Adam's penalty? #shocker #
- I'm actually quite glad that I didnt get a chance to watch the game, not sure my cold ridden body would be able to stand the tension. #
- Have said this many times before but I hope the person who employed Ben Shepherd as a presenter has something very unpleasant happen to them #
- @RealSlimSladee I'm sorry to hear that. #

The week in tweets for this past week from The Smiling Assassin
- Finally getting a chance to watch the Brighton game. Great performance but that Suarez pelanty was poor. #
- On a scale of 1 to Joey Barton, just how pretentious is that new Land Rover advert? #
- I may have said this before but I actually feel sorry for Andre Villas Boas. #
- @flipflopy also suspect Roman is the one really in charge there. As has been the case with everyone else who's managed there. #
- Says a lot when watching a Chelsea game is preferable to watching The Brits. #
- Anyone who seriously thinks that The Brits are genuinely representative of British musical talent are utter mugs. #
- @iainmacintosh perhaps the Chelsea lads did a Jackass style stunt as a bonding exercise before the game? #noidea #
- If David Cameron sorts out racism in football the same way he's sorted out the economy & the NHS then I'm sure that… Oh. #
- More I think about it, more I think "Rafa to Chelsea" is about trying to get the best of Torres than anything else. #
- And is there any other club in the country that is more urgent need of a "project" and has guaranteed investment every year? #
- Managing to watch 10 minutes of the final. Has #LFC #039;s passing today been inspired by some of my passing in FIFA12? Absolutely shocking. #

- Odd how so many journalists are changing their tune now someone like John Barnes is, very intelligently, discussing racism. #
- In fact, I'd love John Barnes to join Twitter. Suspect it'll never happen though, particularly given Collymore's experiences of it. #

The week in tweets for this past week from The Smiling Assassin
- Can I be controversial for a second? I find American Football an utterly ridiculous and inpenetrable sport to follow. #
- I appreciate that there are many people who do enjoy the sport but I'm not someone who pretends to like something, or someone, when I don't. #
- @pauledwards1973 I'm sure there are quite a few that don't think that about it though. #
- American football is a lot like other American sports; they like to talk alot about stats and such to hide the fact that the sport itself… #
- Is actually a fairly simple sport in itself. That and the adverts too. Baseball is much the same. I've got time for basketball though. #
- Another day, another spammer blocked. My work here is done. #
- @estoy_lee Simple genius in those last two tweets of yours, love 'em. #
- .@becc_one Nobber really is one of those underused insults. #
- I didn't realise Victoria was there #badoomtish #hereallweek RT @ErinNYC75 And there was Beckham's cock. #
- Morning. Time to watch the goals from last night then… #
- Right, that didn't take long. #
- So, been a nice quiet few days since I last tweeted then? #sarcasm #pleasenoteuseof #
- First off, many thanks for FF mentions today, and indeed for past few weeks. Always appreciated. #
- Stuart Pearce is under scrutiny for racially abusing Paul Ince. In 1994. Not wishing to sound like Richard Littlejohn but world has gone mad #
- All for stamping out bigotry and racism but starting to think that current climate is almost one from a Brass Eye special. #
- Won't be long before a player (probably Patrice Evra) claims that he was being racially abused because someone was looking at him funny. #
- Oh, and I hope you've enjoyed my absence the last week or so because I'll be tweeting & retweeting like my old self this weekend #forewarned #
- Are the FA run by a bunch of narcissists? Why should they care what the media think who should be the next England manager? #
- If The FA are going to appoint someone who everyone can "get behind" then that rules out a certain ex-LFC manager who might want the job. #
- I was referring to Rafa in that last tweet and not Woy, just in case you were wondering. #
- Don't blame Suarez for not shaking Evra's hand. Not the cleverest thing to do but don't blame him. #
- Phil "not on my watch" Dowd having a decent game so far. So expect a pelanty to Utd any time soon. #
- Glen Johnson isn't related to John Barnes is he? Third mazy Barnesesque run of the game from him. #
- Suarez not shaking hands is one thing but Evra should be man enough to accept that he might not want to shake his hand. #
- If John Terry (of all people!) can accept that someone might not want to shake his hand the surely anyone can? #toomuchtoask #
- BREAKING: David De Gea to star in new series of adverts for Specsavers. #
- Good first 25 mins for LFC, Utd certainly on top now though. Sadly. #
- Fair play to Phil Dowd for keeping a lid on things in that first half. Certainly didn't expect it from him either. #
- Henderson having a stormer today. ALMOST starting to be worthy of wearing Xabi's shirt. #
- Couldn't have said it better myself RT @paul_tomkins Downing is not a bad player, but he doesn't have the self-belief to be an #LFC player. #
- RT @Quaaam Sorry but you don't want to shake hands with someone who supposedly racially abused you 10 times. #
- Good question RT @zarifrasul Any other Premier League signings from last summer that have been as underwhelming as Stewart Downing? #
- To all those complaining about the system, think it worked fine in the first half. 2 basic mistakes have cost us dearly. #
- And as I've said before, Stewart Downing reminding me of Harry Kewell; good player being expected to provide far too much for the team. #
- With Kewell, there was no-one on the other flank creating so he was expected to do everything. Same is true of Downing here. #
- Though the fact that we need a right winger is a) not exactly an earth shattering revelation & b) something I've said more than once. #
